Bits’n’pieces

Why hello, gentle readers! And how are you on this fine Monday after St Patrick’s Day? Heads still firmly attached? Good.

Just a few house keeping issues:

Kit Rocha’s Beyond Control is now on sale (official release date is tomorrow, March 19th). If you’re too lazy to go look it up yourself, my original review post has been updated with buy links.

And because they like to tease us, Chapter One of Beyond Pain, Six and Bren’s story, is included with the release, and it’s also available on their website. I read it and I wanted to scream in frustration. I have a feeling Pain will end up being my favorite of the series. I love a good, broken heroine, and Six has all the makings of one.

Were you watching Twitter last Wednesday? Rob Thomas, creator and show-runner for the much beloved and now defunct TV show Veronica Mars, launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the Veronica Mars movie. In just 12 hours, the goal of $2 million was met. Not only does this make me happy dance happy, it was pretty damn cool to see just how quickly the fans came together to show their support.

I’ll now be posting reviews for Vampire Book Club! In addition to my own reviews (expect to see the usual mix of literary and genre fiction here) I’ll be posting a few times a month over on VBC, so if you’re looking for your next urban fantasy or paranormal romance read, head on over there. In fact, head on over there now for my review of Tahereh Mafi’s Unravel Me.

I was watching Elementary the other night, and the song playing over the end scene was haunting and eerily familiar…turns out it’s the new single from Junip, fronted by Jose Gonzalez. Never heard Junip? Now’s a great time to do so. Happy Monday!
